Par-Time Teachers Might Be Dismissed from Schools

Teachers, who are occupied by less than 18 hours at public schools, might be dismissed from schools. According to the information published on the website of the civil institution, the education minister met the heads of the education resource-centers and school directors and requested to dismiss retired and part-time teachers from schools.

Head of Kvareli district education resource-center Ketevan Chipashvili confirmed the information about their meeting with the minister on June 8 where the abovementioned isses were discussed.

‘From June 20 to July 10 the human resources shall be arranged at public schools. There are 134 staffs on the list at public schools. The minister told us that many staffs, like counter, are not necessary at school. Nobody spoke about retired teachers. As for the part-time teachers, if the school-director proves that s/he needs part-time teacher at school, the latter will remain in the staff,” said Ketevan Chipashvili.

Representatives of Telavi education resource-center stated that according to the directives of the minister, from September 15, only full-time teachers shall work at schools.
