Journalist Union “Skhivi” Protests against Privatization of “Samshoblo” Publishing House

July 22, 2010

Journalist Union “Skhivi” is protesting against the Privatization of the “Samshoblo” Publishing House. Tamaz Bibiluri, president of “Skhivi”, said at a briefing in front of the Ministry of Economic and Sustainable Development that they demand a meeting with the Minister in order to stop the auction planned for tomorrow.

Additionally, the members of the journalistic union demand for the ministry to check the current status of the building and to make a comprehensive document on it. They also demand to give the building to the “Media Central House”, which will get legal status as soon as the Ministry decides to issue the property to them.
