Saakashvili cannot Understand why the Tractor-Driver Puts on the Brakes when He Faces Obstacles

May 16, 2011

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili cannot understand why the tractor-driver puts on the brakes when he faces obstacles.

Mikheil Saakashvili talked about the development of agriculture at the award ceremony of Mercury 2011. According to the President, Georgia has a potential to enlarge the agriculture business.

According to him, the agriculture lacks progress in Georgia and there are people who create obstacles and do not let tractor-drivers do their job.

“I do not understand why tractor-drivers put on the brakes when someone lies down in front of them. They should pass over. I am sorry. Do not take this literally. But the time will pass over them. It is impossible to stop the progress,” – states the President and adds that the one who stops the process of land cultivation, opposes the progress of Georgia.

The President noted that the lands were passed to the hands of the Governors, former prosecutors and the secretaries of regional committees. Now, according to Saakashvili, the people who took hold of lands by corruptive schemes will have to yield them to people.

The President has not clarified who he meant under “people who lie down in front of tractors.” However, it is known that several days ago the leaders of Georgian Party in the village Zeghduleti of Gori Region Sozar Subari and Erosi Kitsmarishvili tried to stop the tractors several days ago.
