Sacking Authorized Representatives of Villages in Guria will Continue with Bigger Scale

Governor of Ozurgeti Asks Guria News to Change Source

The authorized representatives of four territorial entity of Ozurgeti Municipality – Laituri, Nasakirali, Likhauri and Bokhvauri were fired on December 8th.

Ilia Vashakmadze who is performing the duty of Governor of Ozurgeti municipality denies information about their sacking and notes that they willfully wrote the letters of resignation.

According to our source, the authorized representatives of the villages were fired because the highest number of signatures demanding restoration of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s citizenship was collected in their villages. As Vashakmadze states with Guria News, firing authorized representatives will continue and will acquire big scale. For now, the specialists of the relevant villages are fulfilling the obligation of the authorized representatives.

Guria News talked to Ilia Vashakmadze who is fulfilling the obligation of the Governor of Ozurgeti Municipality on this issue.

- Mr. Ilo, how many authorized representatives of the village did you fire and for what?

- I dismissed several authorized representatives. More correctly, I did not dismiss them. But they wrote the letters of resignation. You do not have correct information. I did not fire anybody. They decided to go.

- Today when you look for a job with a candle we do not think that people can willfully decide to leave, especially four people at the same time.

- I will assure you that this is so. You probably remember my first statement when I gave time to everybody to demonstrate their skills. They were to face very busy work. Then I gave some extra work to every authorized representative.

- What do you mean by extra works? Mobilizing for elections?

- No, no, it is not time for elections yet.

- However, the government already started to prepare for it and it is being very active.

- We should always be active for this.

- The population does not know about the village support programs in most of the villages. Moreover, majority of village population cannot name the works implemented in their villages. Let us take Ureki as an example.

- Every authorized representative of the village should check every door. The representatives who cannot do their job must leave. I need the representative who first of all loves his village and will be loved by the village. The selection will be very hard – good boys and girls are not many in the village. However, there are some good representatives.

- Who is good?

- I will tell you when the time comes. This time I will keep it secret.

- Which village representatives did you fire and what did you not like in these villages?

- I did not fire them. I considered their wish – they left willfully and the worst thing is that this started with my village – Likhauri. I would like to note that I myself am from Likhauri and I know the opinion of every resident of the village. Other villages are Bokhvauri, Nasakirali and Laituri.

- According to our source, you fired those representatives in whose villages the highest number of the signatures for restoring Bidzina Ivanishvili’s citizenship was collected.

- You will not be able to confirm that information. You can double-check it with the authorized representatives. This is absurd. Change the source.

- As I know the sacking of the authorized representatives will continue.

- Yes it will and it will gain rather big scale.

One of the representatives of the village of Ozurgeti municipality who was fired stated to Guria News that he does not know about the cause of the firing: “I do not know what happened. I was on my holiday leave. I have an alternative and will be employed elsewhere,” – he stated.
