Mandatory Military Service to Increase up to 15 Months

Mandatory military service will increase up to 15 months. The amendment is to be made in the Georgian Law on Military Obligations and Military Service.
According to the existing formulation, the term of mandatory military service is 12 months. As the explanation note of the draft law states “12 months established for mandatory military service is not enough for thorough preparation of recruiters.”
Defense Ministry is the author of the draft law, deputy Kakha Sukhishvili is the initiator.
