The Lack of Gas and Roads in Gvishtibi

July 27, 2012
Residents of village Gvishtibiin Tskaltubo district are bothered by road problems. “Villages’ rural roads are damaged so much that it is almost impossible to drive to some places. The president’s donated money does not come to us“ stated by Gvishtibi residents.

The rural development project has not started yet. Village governor Chabuki Shvangiradze says that: “Project realization will start next month.  Estimates show that it is necessary to put inert masses on three roads in order to make these roads usable. There is nearly 4-5 km that needs to be graveled. Nearly 25 000 lari is necessary to complete this work.”

But who will do the job right now is unknown to the governor. As he says there will be a tender and as soon as there is a winner the construction process will start.  The whole responsibility will be laid upon the winner’s company, and supervising will be done by the deputy and the governor of this village.

Broken roads are not the only problem for Gvishtibi people. They also want gas. For nearly 3 years, gas pipelines have been lying in the streets but it is unknown whether they were sold or given as a gift. Village Teranli already has a gas and we are only hoping for that said one of the Gvishtibi residents.

As it was understand, SOCAR should provide Gvishtibi with a gas. We tried to contact them but we were unable. Village governor said that SOCAR representatives were in Gvishtibi about 5-6 months ago and they were the ones who took measures were pipelines should be put and after that whole village is waiting for them.
