Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Prosecutor’s Offices Launched Investigation

Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Prosecutor’s Office launched investigation into the fabrication of elections in some precincts of Khashuri DEC # 35 during October 1, 20122 parliamentary elections.

Chief Prosecutor’s Office notified Interpresnews that crime is punished under Article 164-3′ of the Criminal Code of Georgia; materials sent from the Khashuri DEC # 35 became basis to start investigation. “On October 1, 2012, during Parliamentary Elections, chief-investigator of the second unit of Shida Kartli regional department of the Constitutional Security Department of MIA Zviad Grigalashvili physically assaulted observer of Precinct # 4 of Khashuri DEC # 35 Archil Gogaladze through abusing his authority, violence; as a result Gogoladze was slightly injured,” representatives of the prosecutor’s office.

Prosecutor’s Office reported that on June 18 Zviad Grigalashvili was arrested for the crime punishable under Article 333 Part III – “b” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
