GYLA files complaint against President’s Office, MIA and Tbilisi City Hall

Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association filed a complaint against the President’s office, Ministry of Interior Affairs and Tbilisi City Hall. As the organization informed InterPressNews, the case is about the restriction of access to public information and cases of not issuing full information upon request.

GYLA requested information from the aforesaid administrative bodies regarding the list all vehicles received as a gift or procured from 1 January 2011, amount paid, date of receiving a gift and payment. GYLA also demanded issuing all the legal acts that determine the rule of procurement of vehicle. The demanded information has not been recieved, even though GYLA repeatedly addressed the President’ Office and MIA. As for Tbilisi City Hall, after the repeated statement, Tbilisi City Hall partially issued information and didn’t indicate the amount paid for each vehicle”, the organization informs. GYLA calls on all the administrative bodies to follow the obligation to issue public information in terms stipulated by Georgian law and assist the right of interested individuals to get public information.
