About 60 people are on strike because of unpaid salaries in Geguti

Shorena Kakabadze, Kutaisi

Employees of the building ompany "Greenway" have been on strike for two days. They request payment of salary arrears.

“Our employer company "Greenway" is not guilty at all. At least the administration claims so. They say the Greenway is only a performer and hired by the construction company “Accord”, and only implements their instructions. We do our job honestly and professionally. We work on welding in rather difficult conditions. They are obliged to reimburse our work. Unless they pay salaries to us, we will apply more severe form of protest,” employee of the company Greenway Mate Darsadze said.

About 60 workers of the company request their salaries for two months; average portion for each worker is 1,000 GEL.

As for the Accord, which is Azerbaijan company and builds roads in Georgia, has become target of public attention several times because of unpaid salaries. Humanrights.ge tried to contact the company’s leadership, but in vain.
