New director of Gurjaani district Culture Center Eter Loladze extended contracts only with 8 employees out of total 61 and left 53 people unemployed.

Former deputy director of Gurjaani Culture Center Tsitsino Gviniashvili said employees were dismissed on political motives.

“They sacked and insulted me. They claim I am not member of the coalition Georgian Dream. Gurjaani district governor Gia Gergidze wanted to get rid of me. They even deployed security officers in the Culture Center who prohibit me to enter the building,” Tsitsino Gviniashvili said.

Director of Gurjaani District Culture Center Eter Loladze said they needed only mobile group in the center.

“I extended contracts only with eight employees until June 1. As for other employees I intend to study the situation and then extend their contracts too; of course we plan reorganization in the center,” Eter Loladze said.

The dismissed employees are waiting for the director’s official decision and then they will start thinking about future plans.
