Ministry of Finance Is Asked to Fund a Shelter for the Victims of Domestic Violence

03/11/05, “Media News” – The Euro Integration Committee of the Parliament returned the project “Prevention of domestic violence” back to the initiator Ketevan Makharashvili without any conclusions.
According to the head of Euro Integration Committee David Bakradze, the project needs to be improved. “The present project encourages couples to call the police in case of insignificant problems, which is not right. The project must guarantee legal assistance to the victims of domestic violence,”- said Bakradze.
The committee asked the Ministry of Finance to fund a shelter for the victims of domestic violence.
