Scientists Held Silent Rally

14.12.2005, „Media News“ - Several thousand scientists of the Georgian Academy of Sciences held a rally to object to a draft-bill on the Development of Science and Technologies, prepared by the Ministry of Education.

The scientists demanded the revision of the draft-bill and abolishment of several articles, which were adopted at the first hearing.

The President of the Georgian Academy of Sciences Tamaz Gamkrelidze said that ‘Georgian scientists and employees of scientific institutes are concerned over the direction that is taken concerning the Georgian Academy of Science.”
