Special Operation Ended with Death of Criminal

14.12.2005, “Media News” – A special operation led by Tbilisi’s main police department has been ended with the killing of the suspect. Police had announced the search of Rezo Sarjveladze in 2003.
Rezo Sarjveladze, 30, had hired a flat in the Varketili district. He resisted police and opened fire at law enforcement bodies. Sarkveladze was sentenced for 17 years imprisonment for killing, kidnapping and robbery.
Rezo Sarjveladze was one of the prisoners who escaped from the Geguti prison in 2003. The prisoners killed an officer of convoy.
