Representatives of NGO Coalition Are Not Allowed to Enter Yard of the Court

Tbilisi, 19.07.2006, ‘Media News’ – The members of NGO Coalition ‘Civil Society for Democratic Georgia’ were not allowed to enter the yard of the Court of Appeal.

According to Nana Kakabadze, chief of NGO ‘Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights’, “the guard did not allow them to enter the Court’s territory. They were only letting in the staffs of the Court”.

Representatives of NGO Coalition intended to hold a protest supporting imprisoned Irakli Kakabadze and other members of the ‘Egalitarian Institute’.

Moreover, the coalition planned to hold an experiment: they wanted to repeat the protest, which Irakli Kakabadze and other members of ‘Egalitarian Institute’ organized. The very protest caused their imprisonment for thirty days.

NGO Coalition wanted to observe, how the Court would behave in this case – that was the main aim of wrecked protest.
