Government Categorically Denies Its Participation in Poisoning the Demonstrators

Mikheil Machavariani, vice-speaker of the Georgian Parliament, categorically denied opposition leaders’ claims that the government distributed poisoned wine to demonstrators in front of Parliament.

Machavariani stated that the government is personally interested in current events continuing in a civilized manner.

Today, Machavariani had a phone conversation with Davit Tkeshelashvili, the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs. He stated that people who were poisoned in front of Parliament are being sent to area hospitals.

According to various reports, the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs will make a special statement about the conditions of the people poisioned.
