The situation remains tense in the village of Perevi in Sachkhere district of the Imereti Region.
Security monitors who represent the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, OSCE as well as various representatives from other international organization are also not being allowed back to the village.
Zurab Tsertsvadze, Sachkhere district governor, reported to the Medianews that local government officials cannot enter the village as well. Russian troops and Ossetian separatists have opened a road for local inhabitants and buses having started operating. Residents of Perevi manage to buy food products but they are strictly checked at the checkpoint in order to prevent any strangers from being entering the village and they are allowing only local access for the villagers.
