Garbage Dump in Gurjaani Create Threat of Epidemics

Garbage dump has been created 100 meters away from the settlement in Mukuzani village, Gurjaani district for 4 years already. Velistsikhe village population uses it for years. Cleaning Service of Gurjaani district administration promised Mukuzani village population to arrange a dump in Velistsikhe village, after which the territory of the dump in Mukuzani will be cleaned. The service did not keep its promise and unsanitary in the Mukuzani dump creates threat of epidemic.

Population of Knolevi Village Urge for Help

Knolevi village is the last village within the jurisdiction of Georgian state in Kareli district. After 2008 Russian-Georgian armed conflict the village territory was divided by wire-fence. The plots of locals are now in the occupied territory. The number of people living in the village is reducing every day; the migration intensified since 2008 armed conflict. Several houses were burnt and destroyed in 2008; the war trace is still very vivid in the village.

The Court freed the former Zemo Svaneti regional governor based on the plea-agreement after 11-month imprisonment.

Participants Protest Results of the Competition in the Kutaisi Local Self-Government

Last week, competition commission of the Kutaisi local self-government published results of the competition, which took start on October 20, 2014. According to the final results, 157 applicants won the competition for the vacant positions in the City Hall and City Council. As for 39 more working places, the competition results were annulled. Competition commission and the local government in general are satisfied with the process, but participants protest the results.
