People displaced from Tskhinvali in 1990s have lived in the IDP settlement in Gori Tour Base for 24 years already. They say their cottages are in poor conditions for living and can provide expertise conclusion to confirm the fact. 139 internally displaced families live in the Tour base settlement now.
City Council Members Request Monthly Salaries

Part of Gori City Council members requests monthly salaries. In accordance to the law on self-governance, city council meets twice per month. According to the law, council members do not receive salaries though local budget shall reimburse expenses the members have for the implementation of their duties.

Journalistic Ethic Charter Council concluded that information released in Moambe, main news program of the day at Public Broadcaster on August 6 was discriminative and contradicts both Code of Conduct of the Public Broadcaster and Code of Conduct for Broadcasters; the news was about death of a child caused by negligence of parents.
Ministry of Justice vs Foreign Citizens and Family Integrity of Georgian Citizens

State Services Development Agency at the Ministry of Justice does not allow foreign spouses of the citizens of Georgia to temporarily live in Georgia. The refusal of the Agency is grounded with the “conclusion” provided by the Counter-Intelligence Department (CID). Although the negative conclusion is not well-grounded, both the Ministry of Justice and Court rely on it when making decision, which in fact divides families.
In Letter to U.S. Senators, PM Responds to Concerns over Saakashvili's Prosecution

In a letter sent to four U.S. Senators in response to their concerns over prosecution of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili invited them to follow the process closely and said that looking into alleged wrongdoings of former officials is part of “efforts to end impunity” that will make Georgia “a stronger nation and ally.”
Parliament of Georgia to Return to Tbilisi

Parliament of Georgia will renew autumn sessions in the old building of parliament in Tbilisi from September 2. Luggage is already packed in the glassy building of the Parliament in Kutaisi – computers and other equipment are being transported to Tbilisi.

Irakli Okruashvili Acknowledged Defeat in Gori

In the second round of the Gori city mayor’s elections Zurab Jirkvelishvili of the Georgian Dream gained 62,23% of votes and defeated his rival – Kakhaber Ergemlidze from the Georgian Party – Irakli Okruashvili with 3 834 votes. The letter gained only 37, 77 % of votes in the second round of polls.
