35-Day Imprisonment for Cursing President and National Movement
Police arrested Ilia Suliashvili, Georgian Dream’s registrar for the Program Kardakari [polls to check voters’ lists before elections], on July 1. He was charged for minor hooliganism and the court sentenced him to 35-day administrative imprisonment. Ilia Suliashvili has bodily injuries.

Tergi in the Iron and Concrete Coffin
Dariali HES is under construction at the Dariali Gorge. They intend to place Tergi River in the derivation channel and tunnel at the distance of eight kilometers. Environmentalists evaluate that construction and operation of the HES in this way will cause irreversible damage to the Dariali Gorge and its eco-system.

Georgian State Avoids Responsibilities Toward Eco-Migrants
Natural disasters are a common problem in Georgia. Floods, landslides, storms, hurricanes and other natural disasters often destroy houses and residential areas for people. According to Georgian legislation, people uprooted by natural disasters, so called eco-migrants, do not have IDP status and are not entitled to the social benefits of internally displaced people (IDPs).

There are 448 inhabitants in the village Koda of Tetritskaro says local government. The IDPs from Eredvi, Tskhinvali and Liakhvi ravine were settled in Koda in November-December of 2008. Despite having lived in Koda for 4 years already, the government has now legalized the land.
