Gubaz Sanikidze Read a Letter of James Apaturay at Press Conference

May 5, 2009

Gubaz Sanikidze read an extract from the report of James Apaturay at a press conference where he talked about freedom of the media. Apaturay talked about his experience as a press speaker for NATO and stated that his speech was modified and wrongly translated by Georgian independent TV. Georgian independent TV translated his speech wrongly, which showed only one political group’s interests.
“This is very obvious example how Georgian media works and when we talk about wrong sides of Georgian media we are told that we are biased. Although, I think everybody will agree with me that James Apaturay is not Georgian oppositionist”, - stated Gubaz Sanikidze.
