Instead expropriation the state intends to pay less than real price to the citizens. Group of experts hired by the Batumi City Hall, who are trained based on the audit report of the “Akhvlediani Audit Consulting” Ltd, evaluated 1 sq. meter of land on the seaside for 67 GEL while private audit evaluated it for 1 500 GEL.

Guliko Vardmanidze, local resident: “We will not leave the area even if the drive tractors over us. Let them give us keys of renovated flats similar to our houses they are going to destroy or let them estimate real price of our land.”

Representatives of the opposition parties also attended the demonstration. Locals intend to hold protest rallies in front of the Batumi City Hall.

It is noteworthy that the resolution of the president on the expropriation of the territory shall be executed even if the local residents do not accept the offered conditions. The authority is going to build the auto-ban leading to the Batumi Airport in Adlia.
