“Fair Elections” Casts Doubt Over the Criteria of Selecting Trainers by the CEC

May 27, 2010
The non-governmental organization “International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy” calls upon the Central Election Commission to dismiss the trainer in the Akhmeta election district Aleksandre Jugashvili.

“On May 20, the trainer Aleksandre Jugashvili provided the commission members of the polling stations # 11 and 13 in Akhmeta election district with incorrect information at the training. More precisely, he clarified that on the Election Day, a voter should show the people which political party or candidate s/he voted for after s/he leaves the booth,” the statement of the monitoring organization.

Bearing the fact into consideration, the Fair Elections casts doubt over the criteria on selecting the trainers by the Central Election Commission. The Fair Elections requests the CEC to provide the trainees trained by Aleksandre Jugashvili with correct information.
