The Human Rights Center Blames the Prosecutor’s Office in the Revenge of the Balghojiani School Director

The non-governmental organization the Human Rights Center blames the Gurjaani district prosecutor’s office in the revenge of Zurab Tabagari, the former director of the public school in the village of Balghojiani in Kvareli district. According to the human rights organization the case materials report that the prosecutor’s office persecutes Zurab Tabagari for the defeat of the candidate of the ruling party in the municipal elections of 2010.

The law enforcement officers detained Zurab Tabagari several days ago. He is sentenced to two-month pretrial detention. Gurjaani district prosecutor’s office blames him in debauched activities and abuse of his power.

Reportedly, on June 9, 2010, the TV-Company “Imedi” reported in its morning news program that several teachers of the Balghojiani public school blame the school director Zurab Tabagari in the attempted rape of a pupil.

“One of the teachers Maia Tsertsvadze was the commission member of the village polling station from the National Movement. Nino Modebadze is the sister-in-law of Akaki Kekenadze, the candidate of the ruling party in the village who lost the elections; Liana Kupatadze was the agitator of the National Movement; Eldino Iobashvili was coordinator of the ruling party in the village,” statement of the Human Rights Center. The organization also stresses out that the location of the victim pupil is unknown.
