Adjara Leader of Georgian Party Beaten

A leader of the Adjara office of the Georgian Party Shalva Gogitidze was beaten near his house by masked people. Gogitidze said he was leaving his house in Batumi when four masked people attacked and beat him.

“I was getting into my car when the masked people approached me from behind, pushed me down the ground and started beating. They were kicking me,” said Gogitidze in his phone conversation with us. According to him, the masked people were driving a car with Turkish state number.

Gogitidze said he was going to the party office to negotiate with his party members about the ongoing demonstration. Gogitidze connected the incident with his political activities. Police arrived at the scene of incident but ambulance did not arrive there. Gogitidze refused to go to hospital.
