Owners of Family Type Hotels Submitting Complaints against Energo-Pro Georgia

June 16, 2011

The owners of family type hotels of Kvariati and Gonio have problems with the Company Energo-Pro Georgia. The company requests them to apply commercial numerators which costs rather expensive. Approximately 30 families are facing this problem.

Zhuzhuna Kakabadze has a family business in Kvariati. She applied three-phase numerator to create comfort for the holiday-makers. However, this numerator was abolished a month ago and was replaced with individual numerator.

“This is a big problem for us. They should have told us about numerators a while ago. They said that if it shows more than 6 kilo watts we will be fined,” – states Zhuzhuna Kakabadze.

Gulnaz Samnidze purchased the so-called 30 kilo watts electricity for the holiday-makers and paid 2 100 GEL for it: “They made us pay this preliminarily. Then they constructed the cables. We have to pay for the service of cables and electricity as well which is rather expensive.”

According to the head of Energo-Pro Georgia PR Department Giorgi Surmava, the subscribers who use more than 10, 20, 50 and 100 kilo watts at the same time must purchase a single package. In case of illegal use of electricity, the subscribers will be fined with 5 000 – 10 000 GEL.

According to the residents of Gonio-Kvariati, their basic income is the money received during the spring season which they will have to use during the whole year. The government does not give them a chance to relax and have small profit.

The owners of family type hotels did not have such problems last year.
