New Rights Party Protests against New System of Cleaning Service Fees

According to the new initiative of Tbilisi City Hall, the cleaning fee will be attached to the electricity fee. The deputy head of Tbilisi City Hall, the member of Christian-Democrats Jaba Samushia stated the corresponding at the press conference.

The Christian-Democrats are protesting against the new initiative of the City Hall and are requesting the government to fulfill its promise. According to Jaba Samushia, by new initiative, for one kilo watt of the consumed electricity 0.05 GEL will be envisaged.

Jaba Samushia considers that by this initiative, the cleaning service fee will be doubled at least by 50%. Also, according to this initiative, the cleaning service fee calculation by the number of people will be abolished.

“The government starts the summer with next surprise. Before the elections of 2010, the government promised immunities to the public, but since the August of 2010, they are raising prices for living for Tbilisi residents,” – stated Jaba Samushia.

Christian-Democrats call on the majority and Tbilisi City Hall to withdraw this draft law. Samushia states that this initiative raises serious doubts: “We are interested how 40 million GEL invested in Tbilisi budget for the cleaning service is spent.”

New Rights Party also protests against the new system of cleaning service fees. As one of the leaders of New Rights Party, member of the faction Tbilisi of Tbilisi City Council stated at the press conference, adopting new rules of fees is unjust and comes against the interests of Tbilisi population and it will put more burdens on their situation.

According to his statement, the City Hall argues that the high level of migration in the city necessitated this new rule and that the indicator of the official registration does not comply with the factual state that disfigures the real picture of the city.

The New Rights Party requests that the City Hall withdraws the draft law on the new rule of tariffs of services and a new rule of the payment.
