August 26, 2011

According to Mtskheta-Mtianeti information center, in the surrounding territory of village Tsitelubani of Gori region de-facto Ossetian law-enforcement detained three young people – brothers, 21-year old and 23-year old Shota and Giga Bzarashvilis and their uncle 33-year old Elizbar Bzarashvili. According to the Center information, the detainees are accused of illegal crossing of border.

As mother of Shota and Giga Bzarashvili, Maia Bzarashvili stated to Mtskheta-Mtianeti Information Center, his sons went out on hunting from the village Dzalisi of Mtskheta region on Monday morning of August 22nd.

“They brought three guns with them. All guns were registered. They also had a permission to hunt. They were going to Tsitelubani. We could not contact them for at 12:00 am in the morning. When they did not come we started search. Georgian policemen told us at Tsitelubani checkpoint that they saw how they passed by car. They said that they could not do anything since it was evening and would start search next morning. We notified Gori police the same evening. They contacted us Tuesday afternoon and told us that the boys were detained by Ossetian policemen. We do not know for sure what happened. They have already been transferred to Tskhinvali,” – noted Maia Bzarashvili.

As Mtskheta-Mtianeti Information Center was told in the office of EU observatory mission, the detainees are placed in Tskhinvali detention cell now.
