Teachers Sacked for Collecting Support Signatures for Restoration of Ivanishvili

November 17, 2011

Coordinating Council Member of the Civil Unity Baia Amashukeli said teacher of Varketili based public school # 215 Levan Jajvani was sacked because he was collecting signatures for the restoration of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s citizenship.

Amashukeli reported news agency Pirveli about Jajvani’s dismissal before the press-conference of the Civil Unity started in Zurab Vazagashvili Hall “Jazu”.

“Several days ago three police officers visited Levan Jajvani at home and recorded his personal data. 2-3 days later the school director called Jajvani and informed him about dismissal. It is clear that the fact is connected with his collecting signatures for the restoration of Ivanishvili’s citizenship. Levan Jajvani intends to appeal to court against the director’s decision and we will support them in it,” said Amashukeli.

Collection of signatures for the restoration of Ivanishvili’s citizenship is going on in Zurab Vazagashvili’s Hall “Jazu”.

Head of the HQ Shalva Mekvabishvili said they have already collected 80 000 signatures by now.
