Annual Funding of a Political Party Shall Not Exceed 0, 2 % of the GDP

The annual funding of the political party shall not exceed 0, 2 % of the Gross Domestic Product.

The amendments are drafted to be introduced to the Organic Law of Georgia on Political Unions of Citizens.

According to the draft-amendments, the annual state funding for the political party, together with donations and other legal incomes shall not exceed 0, 2% of the official GDP of the previous year.

The political party is entitled to transfer the additionally accumulated funds to the state budget.

The draft-law was initiated and designed by MPs Pavle Kublashvili, Akaki Minashvili and Chiora Taktakishvili. The draft-law will be initiated at the parliament session on Friday.

The draft law on political unions of citizens was already sent to the Venice Commission.
