Unidentified Individuals Beat Son of Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Opposition Deputy, in the Entrance of His Apartment Building

December 14, 2011

The son of opposition deputy of Parliament Giorgi Tsagareishvili, 19-year old Zurab Tsagareishvili was beat late at night of December 14th by unidentified individuals at Kavsadze St.

As Giorgi Tsagareishvili stated to interpressnews, 4-5 unidentified individuals attacked his son when he was coming back home at about 00:30 am.

According to the deputy, the neighbors ran out when they heard noise and the attackers ran away.

“We called the patrol and the ambulance brigade. My son was transferred to Republican Hospital where he underwent the medical inspection and was diagnosed with brain concussion. He has face injuries. We came back home at about 06:00 am,” – deputy stated.

Giorgi Tsagareishvili links the occurred to his political activity. According to his statement, this is a revenge which will take wider forms soon and will grow into tragic events as Mikheil Saakashvili, Vano Merabishvili and all the rest are ready to do anything.

“I cannot link this incident to anything else other than my political activity. My son is a sportsman. He has been playing rugby more than ten years now. He studies in Georgian-American University and is rather successful. He never had conflicts before,” – Tsagareishvili stated.

Deputy still does not know whether or not the criminal case has been filed on the occurred. Tsagareishvili states that the surveillance cameras are arranged around his apartment building and the law-enforcement can open the case if they wish to.
