Builders of The New Office of the Adjara Supreme Council Request Their Salaries

December 26, 2011

On December 23, the builders of the new office of the Adjara Supreme Council protested and requested the building company to cover their salary-arrears of two months.

“They have not paid our salaries though they promised. Now we do not believe they will distribute salaries on Monday,” a worker Ramin Dumbadze told the Human Rights Center.

The head of the Supreme Council’s administration Levan Khozrevanidze does not know the reason why the workers could not receive the salaries. “I do not know why salaries were not distributed for the builders. According to the labor agreements, we transfer the salary sums at the end of each month after they report about the implemented job.”

2 596 000 GEL was allocated for the construction of the new building of Adjara Supreme Council. Construction-rehabilitation Company Ltd “Samsheneblo-Samontajo Kompania” was working on the building. Representative of the Company Koba Tsuladze said they have distributed the November salary in advance and the rest money will be transferred soon.
