New Beer of Chochelis Zedazeni to Be Produced in Several Days

New beer factory Zedazeni will be opened in the village Saguramo of Mtskheta region in several days. One of the founders and owners of new beer factory is brother of Mtsekhta-Mtianeti Governor – Iago Chocheli.

The factory stated to Mtskheta-Mtianeti Information Center that Zedazeni will produce approximately 10 types of beers on the initial stage.

75 million GEL investment has been made in the beer factory. Besides alcoholic drinks, the company plans to produce weak alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, including fruit juices. The power of factory is intended for production of 400 000 hector liter beer and 300 000 hector liter lemonade. The leadership of the factory plans to export the production as well. The factory was built according to the project of Czech company Zvu Potez.

700 people in sum will be employed in the new factory.

Zedazeni belongs to the joint-stock company Georgian Beer Company. Iago Chocheli’s partners in Georgian Beer Company are MP Kakha Okriashvili who is also an owner of pharmaceutical company PSP Pharma and network of clinics New Hospital and Ltd International Energetic Corporation of Georgia. The head of the corporation Natela Turnava was first deputy of the Minister of economics Kakha Bendukidze. 100% of Ltd International Energetic Corporation of Georgia belongs to Ltd Holding Georgia’s Industrial Group.

Beer industry is well acquired by family of Chochelis. Beer factory was operating in Akhalgori till August 2008 war where Georgian beer Lomisi was produced. Lomisi factory was founded by the current Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Tsezar Chocheli. Lomisi beer factory continued work after Akhalgori was occupied by Russian side. According to Ossetian media, three types of beer were produced in the factory. Currently, it is sealed.

Beer factory Natakhtari belonged to Iago Chocheli. He sold it to Efes Beer International several years ago. According to the contract made with Efes, Chocheli did not have right to proceed beer business for certain period. After the term of the contract expired, Iago Chocheli founded Georgian Beer Company with several partners.
