Parents of Little Lolita Are Oppressed

April 11, 2012

After Shida Kartli Information Center reported on the health state of little Lolita living in Tserovani, her parents were first summoned to local government. Then her father was dismissed from job. Mother of child informed Shida Kartli Information Center on the following.

“Head of the village visited us several times and asked us who came here, what they brought, whether they belong to some political party or not. Every time they came, I gave them proper answer. Then I was summoned to local government. I was questioned there as well. They want to know who comes here to help me,” – the mother of child states.

Lolita’s father Zviadi was dismissed from job as a guard of the kindergarten. He used to receive 40-50 GEL a month. Many people were interested in the health state of the child. Family does not even know many.

“People constantly call us. They send us gifts. Everybody tries to help the child somehow. Once a woman from Tbilisi sent some valuable gifts by Marshutka to bring them to Lolita. I do not even know who it was. Driver of Marshutka just came and passed the gifts to me. But the heads of our village constantly guard our house. Every time they see someone new, they get mad. But I am not afraid of anybody,” – Lolita’s mother states.

“I am thankful to everybody who shows care to my child. I myself am surprised that there are so many kind people in Georgia. A woman from Gori called me once. She has read my story. She said that she was sending food by transport and encouraged me to feel strong,” – mother of child recalls.
