According to his statement, his political persecution was caused by information released by TV-Company Rustavi 2 on July 2 when June 26 statement of the State Audit Agency and June 29 statement of Prosecutors office was aired after Cartu Foundation transferred bonus to him.

As a result, on May 28 the Foundation transferred bonus equivalent of 10 000 USD to his account based on the charity agreement between him and Cartu Foundation.

“According to this agreement sum was allocated for the “improvement of sport activities and social conditions”. This fact cannot be considered bribery of votes despite much attempt of the government because this bonus was not first assistance of Cartu allocated on. Since 2007 Cartu Foundation has been paying 1500 lari per month to me and many other public figures,” Kuzanashvili said.

The sportsman added that if government is interested in the transfer of money to people from Cartu Foundation, and it is not political persecution, they should also get interested in money-transfers to Zaza Kedelashvili, who is champion of Europe and member of Dedoplistskaro district office of the National Movement. They should also get interested in money-transfers of Cartu Foundation of Boxing whose chairmen is MP  Petre Tsiskarishvili and in many this similar cases.
