MIA Responds to Dismissal of Employees from Patrol Police Department

November 22, 2012
Ministry of Internal Affairs responded to dismissal of employees from patrol police department. MIA clarified that police officers were dismissed only as a result of structural reorganization and it does not have political or other motives.

“Those who are under supervision of the MIA’s HR Department and new personnel will be selected according to their professionalism.

As for necessity of structural reorganization, it has detailed explanation: structure of patrol police department and personnel schedule was created in 2004 and was not changed for the last 8 years. Patrol police has significantly changed both functionally and structurally; for example some service departments were separated from the patrol police like auto-transportation service, service center for state numbers of cars, service for issuing driving licenses and service for issuing weapon and registration. Besides that, border-migration checkpoints and expert criminalist service were unified under patrol police department.

Besides functional and structural amendments, patrol police officers have been implementing their professional duties improperly recently. In order to make activities of patrol police compliant with the requirements of public security and interests, complete structural optimization and reorganization shall necessarily take place.

Decisions made during reorganization will rely only on the increase of professional responsibilities,” MIA statement reads.
