Breached labor rights of the citizen was restored with the legal assistance of Human Rights Center

July 9, 2014

Human Rights Center

With the legal assistance provided by the Human Rights Center Teimuraz Tsikhelashvili restored his breached labor rights. During many years he worked on high positions in the JSC Madneuli (currently RMG Copper) where he was illegally sacked in 2012 for supporting then opposition political party Georgian Dream.

Human Rights Center sent application to the Bolnisi district court, which upheld the lawsuit and ruled to restore Teimuraz Tsikhelashvili on the relevant position in the JSC. At the same time, the defendant organization was ordered to pay missed salary arrears – 83 000 lari to the applicant.

RMG Copper appealed the judgment of the district court at the Tbilisi Appeal Court.

On July 4, the Tbilisi Appeal Court did not satisfy the applicant’s suit and ruled the same judgment passed by the Bolnisi district court; according to the latter Tsikhelashvili shall be restored to the relevant position in the organization and receive the salary of the missed months.
