Non-governmental Organization Europe –Our Home Warns Georgian Government

April 27, 2015

Shorena Kakabadze, Kutaisi

“It is time to end statements that there is no place of the Parliament of Georgia in Kutaisi. Statement of the Prime Minister in front of the Parliament about the building of government in Kutaisi is absolute irresponsibility and has nothing to do with legislative norms. It insults the Constitution,” founder of the NGO Europe – Our Home Tornike Baratashvili said.

He responded to the statement of the Prime Minister of Georgia, which he made during his visit in Kutaisi. “We try to find alternative function for the Kutaisi based parliament building, which cost 350 million lari for the state budget. As for Kutais based government house, I think it should be sold. 80 million lari was wasted on its construction.”

Tornike Baratashvili said: “During the governance of the Georgian Dream Kutaisi is losing its function every day and population abandons it due to hard social-economic conditions. The city faces social disaster. It will cost too expensive for the Government of Georgia. They will receive a kick from Kutaisi population.”
