Georgian Government’s Report at the UN Human Rights Council

On November 10, Government of Georgia will present the Report on the State of Human Rights in Georgia at the presentation of the Universal Periodic Report (UPR) in the UN Human Rights Council, Geneva. Interested persons can watch the presentation online on http://webtv.un.org/. On October 7, two member organizations of Human Rights House Tbilisi Article 42 of the Constitution and Georgian Center for Psycho-Social and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) presented alternative reports on the state of human rights in Georgia. The Report prepared by the HRHT member organizations focused on five main issues: rights of prisoners, discrimination of persons with disabilities, politically motivated discrimination, gender-based discrimination on working places and state of human rights defenders.
