New project of Human Rights Center - Free Legal Advocacy and Human Rights Monitoring After the COVID-19 Pandemic

On July 1, 2020, Human Rights Center, with the financial support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia, launched a new project Free Legal Advocacy and Human Rights Monitoring After the COVID-19 Pandemic” which will last until June 30, 2021.

The project aims to identify and raise awareness about possible human rights violations during and after the COVID-19 related state of emergency in Tbilisi and in 5 regions of Georgia – Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Imereti and Samegrelo. The project will raise public awareness about the state of human rights during and after the pandemic.

In the frame of the project, HRC lawyers will defend the rights of the citizens in common courts, administrative bodies and commercial and/or business companies, who were fined by the police during or after the state of emergency, who possibly became subject of physical or/and psychological oppression from the side of law enforcement officer, who lost job and/or income, citizens, whose rights were breached by the commercial banks or/and other financial organizations, and others.
