On April 5, Kutaisi City Court terminated administrative proceedings against civil activist Giorgi Loladze because of the lack of administrative offense.
On March 27, 2022, Giorgi Loladze participated in a protest rally in Kutaisi protesting the increase in petrol prices. Loladze was one of the organizers of the rally.
In the course of the protest rally, Giorgi Loladze was detained by the patrol crew and issued an administrative offense report under Article 173(1) of the Administrative Offenses Code implying disobedience to the legitimate request of the police officer.
Giorgi Loladze was placed in the pre-trial detention facility for 48 hours. After the expiration of the term he was released, but the court proceedings continued against him. The court ordered the agent of the patrol police to present additional evidence to the case.
The video evidence presented by the police failed to prove the fact of committing an offense by Giorgi Loladze.
Ana Chapidze, a lawyer from  Human Rights Center, defended the civil activist at the trial.
