With the ruling of Judge Gocha Didava at the Chamber for Civil Cases of the Tbilisi City Court, the civil lawsuit of Lazare Grigoriadis was rejected.

HRC defends the legal interests of Lazare Grigoriadis, participant of March 7-8 protest demonstrations, in the court. He appealed the Chamber for Civil Cases of the Tbilisi City Court with the civil suit against Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and chairman of the ruling political party Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze for defamation. The applicant also requests the PM and the Georgian Dream chair to publicly apology him.

On July 4, HRC lawyer Dimitri Nozadze, who defends legal interests of Lazare Grigoriadis, met him in the Gldani penitentiary establishment N 8. During the meeting, the defense lawyer and the defendant agreed to lodge another civil lawsuit to the Tbilisi City Court against Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and chairman of the ruling political party Irakli Kobakhidze.

With the new updated lawsuit, Lazare Grigoriadis will request to impose 2-2 GEL penalty (instead previously claimed 15 GEL for each) on the PM and chairman of the Georgian Dream. He keeps his claim for public apology in the updated lawsuit too.
