The President declared Amnesty for 21 Prisoners

30.11.2005, “Media News” – The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili granted amnesty to 21 prisoners. 17 of them are released from jail and 4 received a reduction of sentence. 

At first, 45 candidates were presented to the commission, but after studying their cases, the commission recommended only 21 of them to the President. Among the released prisoners, one was a juvenile inmate and one a woman.

Most of them were accused of minor crimes.
