Journalist has Applied to Prosecutor's Office and Demanded That a Criminal Case was Launched against Former Governor of Imereti

On December 12 journalist Irakli Imnaishvili appealed to Kutaisi District Prosecutor's Office and demanded that a criminal case was launched against former Imereti Governor Akaki Bobokhidze and his associates.

On December 1 after the live TV debates between Imnaishvili and Bobokhidze in the Kutaisi-based TV company "Rioni", the Governor and his associates physically abused the journalist.

According to the results of independent examination, Imnaishvili got a concussion of the brain; besides, his nose was broken. The journalist is still under medical supervision.

Georgian Young Lawyers' Association is going to defend Imnaishvili's interests in court. After the conflict with Imnaishvili, Akaki Bobokhidze announced his resignation.
