Journalist was Threatened in Guria for Article

Journalist of "Guria News" newspaper Nato Gogelia was threatened for her articles by telephone. The telephone threats started after she published the article called "Newly Repaired "Ozurgeti's" Roof Leaks and Equipment Is not Adequate". The article touched upon embezzlement of budget resources.

According to the journalist, the assistant of the Governor of Guria Zviad Ungiadze, asked her not to publish the article and promised to pay her more than the newspaper for her silence.

According to Gogelia, the threats stopped after the Governor, Alexander Tsintsadze, supported her and asked law enforcement bodies to investigate that case. Ozurgeti’s Prosecutor Office launched a criminal case in connection with the fact.
