Shida Kartli Journalists Ask Ombudsman to React to Violation of Their Rights

Journalists representing Shida Kartli region's media outlets applied to Ombudsman Sozar Subari and asked him to respond to the facts of their pressuring and attempts of the local administration to impose strict censorship over the local media.

According to Ombudsman, the journalists complain about the pressuring they experience from Shida Kartli Governor's press service.

"The journalists named a few incidents when the local administration violated the media's rights, didn't provide public information and tried to restrict the publication of Governor Mikheil Kareli's and his administration's members' photos."

Ombudsman Sozar Subari is going to visit Shida Kartli region in connection with the abovementioned facts and meet the authors of the address as well as the representatives of local administration.
