Firemen on Strike in Chkorotskhu District

Chkhorotskhu, 05.06.06, ‘Media News’ – The staff of the Chkhorotskhu Fire Company refused to continue work, until the Government pays the salaries owed to them.

“We only get salary for five or six months a year. Salaries for almost forty months are still to be paid. If they do not meet our demands, we will walk to Tbilisi and hold a protest in front of the Parliament”, say protesters.

The fire-fighters gave the government ten days to meet their demands. According to Chkhorotkhu administration, the salaries will be paid when budget is filled.
