Statement of the MP Kakha Kukava

Broadcasting Company ‘Rustavi 2’ disseminated my wrong comment about the fact that the opposition is planning confrontation against the government. The resistance of Emzar Kvitsiani in Kodori gorge is the part of the confrontation.

I want to underline that up-mentioned information does not coincide with the announcement I made. The journalist of ‘Rustavi 2’, who had a phone talk with me before new program ‘Kurieri’ was aired, knew what my real comment was. After that he asked me to give ‘Rustavi 2’ official comment on it. However I did not because of well-known boycott against ‘Rustavi 2’ from the opposition parties. That was the reason, they spread disinformation.

I once again state my position about processes in Kodori gorge: I think Kvitsiani’s confrontation is very serious problem, which can cause riot in the country. I again underline that Kvitsiani’s plans have nothing in common with disagreement between the government and opposition.
