Supreme Court Refused to Release Members of the ‘Egalitarian Institute’

Tbilisi, 27307.06, ‘Media News’ – The Supreme Court have not satisfied lawyer’s appeal about immediate release of five members of ‘Egalitarian Institute’.

The lawyers of arrested persons and the head of NGO ‘Article 42 of the Constitution’ Manana Kobakhidze submitted the appeal several days ago. They demanded abortion of judge Tkeshelashvili’s decision.

Five members of ‘Egalitarian Institute’ Irakli Kakabadze, Lasha Chkhartishvili, Jaba Jishkariani, Zurab Rtveliashvili and David Dalakishvili were arrested in the yard of Court of Appeal on the 29th of June. They are accused in violation of public order.

According to Gela Nikoleishvili, lawyer, they plan to appeal decision in European Court in Strasbourg. Term of imprisonment of NGO members ends on the 29th of July.
