Opposition Will Set Up Tent City in front of the Public Broadcasting

April 23, 2009

Alongside the rallies in Tbilisi, the opposition parties will set up a tent city in front of the Public Broadcasting as well.

On April 22, opposition leader Levan Gachechiladze stated at the demonstration in front of the Parliament that next day at 5:00 pm after the information briefing in front of the parliament the demonstrators will move towards the Public Broadcasting where they will set up a Tent City similar to the one near the parliament building and in Liberty Square.

Opposition parties have been holding rallies since April 9 and they request the resignation of President Mikheil Saakashvili. On April 21 the opposition members set up tents in front of the parliament building in Rustaveli Avenue and in Liberty Square. Since that, the traffic movement is paralyzed along Rustaveli Avenue and on the central square of the country.

The new tent town in front of the Public Broadcasting will result in blocking another central street, Kostava Street.
