Last Night Member of the HQ for April 9 Was Beaten

Last night, at about 10:00 pm Melor Vachnadze, member of the Youth HQ of the Movement for April 9, was beaten in Tovstonogov Street.

Currently, Vachnadze is medically examined at Tbilisi central hospital. Before that, he was in the office of the Public Defender of Georgia. According to his statement, he was in Marjanishvili Street by car and when he got out of his car strange people attacked him; he was pushed into another car and then taken to Tovstonogov Street where he was beaten. The kidnappers tried to lock him in the car.

Melor Vachnadze stated during the harassment he was sitting on the back seat of the car but since the front seat was empty he managed to creep forward and then got out of the car and ran away.

Personnel of the first medical aid department stated Melor Vachnadze was injured on his shoulder; he has a scratch on his neck.

Melor Vachnadze has already made testimony at the office of the Public Defender of Georgia.
